The concept is so simple. Why they have made it so confusing I have no idea. I guess they want you to fail and pay them for your need.

In this tutorial We will learn and go through step by step instructions on How to do Port forwarding.
Lets take an example (verizon Westell router) - Basics are similar for all routers.
1) Go to your router page.
You will need a username and password to login.
By default its admin and admin. But if you might have changed it in past, you need to remember or else you can hard reset your router.
Please visit How to reset your router.
4) Now go to "Firewall settings"
It will ask you about security and all. Say Yes and continue.
5) You will see Port forwarding on the left side.
Click Port forwarding. You will see the list of rules.
Click Add and it opens up to the list of rules created until now. You want to create new rule.
Click Add.
Name the rule anything you want.
Now first you have to select the local port you assigned your computer or application on your computer (webcam etc.).
Say its 50001.
Select "both" 50001 50001 50001
Save it and close it.
You will see in port forwarding a new rule in the list.
Now click add for default port.
When we go to any website if we dont specify the port the default is 80.
I wanna make sure by default it goes to this local port.
Click Add
Create new rule as default_web_server.in configurations,
"both" 80 80 50001
Save it and close it.
We are almost there.
Now we want to make sure we keep few different ports just in case.
Click Add.
Create new rule as test1In configurations
"both" 501 505 50001
Save it and close it.
Now in port forwarding page you will see all three rules you created. You will see the external address of your router.
Note it downand also the ports you specified in port forwarding.
You are all set.
7) Go to any Mall or ask any friend to go to this link
with your router external ip: port.He should be able to watch your camera on your Computer.
Your Port forwarding is complete.
